====

If you were tested at FTDNA, could you please authorize the administrator of your project to see your mutations present in the Coding Region of your mitochondrial DNA ?

By default, FTDNA hides the content of this region to visitors, including the administrator.

The administrator will keep this information confidential. The administrator needs this information to  suggest new subclades or new branches within your present haplogroup and subclade.

Since the computer program which finds matches in the FTDNA database does not consider mutations introduced by the condition heteroplasmy which is the presence of more than one type of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) within a cell or individual, the administrator will process this information and could propose matches unseen by FTDNA.
How to proceed to give the administrator the authorization to see the CR ?
(1) Log into your page at FTDNA
(2) On the left panel menu select *Manage personal information*
(3) Click on the tab entitled *Privacy & Sharing*
(4) at the level of the paragraph entitled *My DNA results* and sentence *Who can view my mtDNA Coding Region mutations?* change it from *Only Me* to *project administrator*
(5) Please also verify your authorization concerning the variable *Who can see me in project member lists?* and switch it to *members of the project*; otherwise other members will not know your existence in our project and will not be able to find you as a potential match. This is thus extremely important.
